Serviced apartments: how do you compare terms and quotations?
When comparing serviced apartments, first ask for quotations using the same move-in date and number of days, then confirm the room type, minimum stay and services included. Daily, weekly and monthly prices cannot be set side by side as if they were the same total cost.

What information should you use to compare quotations?
Tell the operator your actual check-in and check-out dates, the number of people and the room type you need, and ask for the total for the whole stay, the deposit and other charges to be listed. Keep the same set of dates when comparing, so you do not mix different terms or room types.
| Item to check | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Pricing unit | Daily, weekly or monthly, and how a part period is charged |
| Term | Minimum stay, and conditions for extending or leaving early |
| Services | Cleaning, linen change, water and electricity, internet and service charge |
How do you confirm the room type and the services included?
Ask for photos and the layout of that room type, not just the building's showcase images. Ask about the kitchen, laundry, storage and a place to work. For cleaning, confirm the frequency, the times and whether it is charged separately; if water and electricity have a usage limit, that should also be stated clearly.
How do you make arrangements before moving in?
Check the check-in method, reception hours, document requirements and emergency contact. If you need arrangements for cancellation, postponement, visitors or pets, get a written reply first. On check-in, count the items and record the room's condition, and keep the payment and deposit records.
Common questions
If the monthly rent looks lower, is it necessarily better value?
Not necessarily. Work out the total price for your actual dates, add the deposit, service charge and anything not included, and compare the conditions for leaving early or extending.
