Check unposted memorials and lodged-document status
Delivery of a document to the Registry does not necessarily mean it has been posted to the relevant register. Prepare the memorial, property and document particulars when checking unposted information or lodged-document status.

Prepare for your task
| Task | Information to have ready |
|---|---|
| Memorial and property | Check the memorial reference, lot, address and instrument nature, keeping this enquiry distinct from other documents concerning the same property. |
| Delivery and instrument dates | Record the delivery date separately from the instrument's date, comparing them with available documents and information supplied by the transaction professional. |
| Appropriate enquiry service | Distinguish unposted information, lodged-document status and copy-order status. An order enquiry uses its payment or order reference rather than the same document-status identifiers. |
| Follow-up and rechecking | Retain the enquiry time and result, referring outstanding registration or interpretation questions to the transaction professional and updating the search record as required. |
Scope and arrangements
- Unposted information differs from an entry posted to the register; delivery evidence alone does not establish completed registration.
- Check document status, title and transaction implications with the relevant records and responsible professional; one online status does not replace legal interpretation.
