Give the change its own record

Start with the submitted version and identify the changed particular, date and evidence. HA handles any review or priority effect for the actual case; an unchanged outcome should not be assumed.

Keep the notification, submission evidence and response with the original application. Contact-detail updates and household or income/asset changes may have different processes.

Compare earlier and changed particulars

Retain the earlier version too.

Example: a contact update is a different task

An email update does not establish that a household change was handled. Keep separate records for the two submissions and responses.

Follow each change separately

  • Dates and earlier versions remain
  • Different tasks are not conflated
  • Official outcomes are not assumed
