Organise minor-works appointments and submission stages
Have the appropriate professional or registered contractor confirm the work class and item, then organise pre-commencement, construction and completion records separately. A quote, management arrangement and statutory submission serve different purposes.

Buildings Department
Prepare for your task
| Task | Information to have ready |
|---|---|
| Class and appointment | Describe the actual work and have the required professional and contractor appointments checked, retaining registered-scope and appointment records. |
| Before commencement | Prepare the notices, plans, work details and photographs required for the confirmed class, coordinating the prescribed submission timing with the contractor. |
| Changes during work | Record additional items and scope changes separately so the responsible professional can check whether further specified forms or documents are required. |
| After completion | Follow up the applicable completion certificate, revised plans and completion photographs, retaining submission and acknowledgement records as well as invoices. |
Scope and arrangements
- Appointment and submission arrangements differ by class; a quote or work label alone does not determine the classification.
- A preliminary departmental acknowledgement is distinct from the appointed professionals' responsibilities for the work and required documents.
