Distinguish first assignment from building age and later resale
The relevant restriction date differs from building completion or a later owner's purchase date.

Identify the event behind the date
HA's restriction information explains first assignment as a distinct event. Keep building information, first-assignment records and later transactions separate.
Have the relevant deeds and scheme rules reviewed by the solicitor; an old building or online completion year does not establish open-market sale or letting permission.
Retain different dates separately
Label each date with its source.
| Item | Record | Follow-up |
|---|---|---|
| Building | Completion year and source | Do not treat as first assignment |
| First assignment | Deed and date | Provide for legal review |
| Later transfer | Resale or purchase document | Keep separate from the first |
| Restriction | Scheme and terms | Do not determine independently |
Example: the current owner bought later
A later owner's assignment should not automatically replace the first-assignment date. Keep both records for the relevant legal check.
Match dates to events
- Years and exact dates are distinct
- Deed sources are retained
- Restrictions are checked against legal documents
