Yuen Long district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Yuen Long district covers Yuen Long town centre, Tin Shui Wai, Hung Shui Kiu, Ping Shan, Kam Tin, Pat Heung, San Tin and Lau Fau Shan. It has the two new towns of Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai as well as wide countryside and many village houses. The Tuen Ma Line and the Light Rail serve it, and it is split between Primary One school nets 72, 73 and 74.

Tuen Mun district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Tuen Mun district covers Tuen Mun town centre, Siu Hong, Lam Tei, Gold Coast, So Kwun Wat and Siu Lam. The new town is built along the Tuen Mun River with a high share of public housing, and the Light Rail is the main way to get around. The Tuen Ma Line ends at Tuen Mun, and the district is split between Primary One school nets 70 and 71.

Tsuen Wan district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Tsuen Wan district covers Tsuen Wan town centre, Tsuen Wan West, Sham Tseng, Ting Kau and Ma Wan. In the town centre estates and malls are joined by footbridges; the Tsuen Wan West waterfront has newer large estates; and Sham Tseng and Ma Wan are coastal residential areas. The Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines serve it, and the district is Primary One school net 62.

Tai Po district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Tai Po district wraps around Tolo Harbour and covers Tai Po Market, Tai Wo, Pak Shek Kok, Tai Po Kau, Hong Lok Yuen, Lam Tsuen and Tai Mei Tuk. The town centre has public and private estates, Pak Shek Kok has newer estates, and the countryside is mainly village houses. The East Rail Line serves it, and the district is Primary One school net 84.

Sha Tin district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Sha Tin district covers Sha Tin town centre, Tai Wai, Fo Tan, Kau To Shan, City One, Shek Mun, Ma On Shan and Wu Kai Sha, and has the largest population of any district. The new town mixes public rental estates, Home Ownership Scheme courts and private estates. The East Rail and Tuen Ma lines serve it, and it is split between Primary One school nets 88, 89 and 91.

Sai Kung district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Sai Kung district has two parts: Tseung Kwan O new town, and the rural and coastal areas around Sai Kung Town and Clear Water Bay. Tseung Kwan O is mainly high-rise estates above and around MTR stations; Sai Kung and Clear Water Bay are mainly village houses and low-density homes, with no railway. The district is Primary One school net 95.

North district covers Sheung Shui, Fanling, Kwu Tung, Sha Tau Kok and Ta Kwu Ling and borders Shenzhen. Sheung Shui and Fanling are new towns, the countryside has many village houses, and the Kwu Tung North and Fanling North new development areas are under construction. The East Rail Line serves it, and it is split between Primary One school nets 80, 81 and 83.

Kwai Tsing district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Kwai Tsing district is made up of Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi island and contains the Kwai Chung container terminals. Kwai Chung is mainly public housing, while Tsing Yi has more private estates. The Tsuen Wan Line, Tung Chung Line and Airport Express serve it, and it is split between Primary One school nets 64, 65 and 66.

Islands district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Islands district covers Tung Chung, Discovery Bay, Mui Wo and Tai O on Lantau, together with Cheung Chau, Peng Chau and Lamma Island. Tung Chung is a new town of high-rise estates; the other islands are mainly village houses reached by ferry. The district is split between Primary One school nets 96 to 99.

Yau Tsim Mong district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Yau Tsim Mong district covers Tsim Sha Tsui, Jordan, Yau Ma Tei, Mong Kok, Prince Edward, Tai Kok Tsui, Olympic and the Kowloon Station area, and is Kowloon's commercial and retail centre. The old streets are mainly walk-ups and single blocks, while Kowloon and Olympic stations have large estates. It is split between Primary One school nets 31 and 32.

Wong Tai Sin district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Wong Tai Sin district covers Lok Fu, Wong Tai Sin, Tsz Wan Shan, Diamond Hill, San Po Kong, Choi Hung and Ngau Chi Wan. It is the only district in Hong Kong with no coastline, and most residents live in public rental estates and Home Ownership Scheme courts. The Kwun Tong and Tuen Ma lines serve it, and it is split between Primary One school nets 43 and 45.

Sham Shui Po district guide: housing, transport and school nets
Sham Shui Po district covers Sham Shui Po, Cheung Sha Wan, Lai Chi Kok, Mei Foo, Shek Kip Mei, Nam Cheong and Yau Yat Chuen. It has many walk-up tenements, and large estates at Mei Foo and around Lai Chi Kok and Nam Cheong stations. The Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines serve it, and the district is Primary One school net 40.
